Najaf Friday Prayer Leader:
Rasa – Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi noted that the massive presence of the Iranian people in support of the government meant the end of the sedition and the defeat of the Zionist regime.

RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Iraqi city of Najaf’s al-Fatimiyah Husayniyah, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Sadruddin al-Qubanchi offered his congratulations on recent victories by the Iraqi army against the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group and said, “Over the past few days, the Iraqi people have been celebrating the courage and sacrifices of the country’s armed forces and the cleansing of the lands of this country from terrorism.”
 
 
The Iraq Shi’ah cleric stated that there is sufficient funding and a healthy system for holding elections on the scheduled date, adding, “We call on the Iraqi Prime Minister Haydar al-Abadi to hold the next Iraqi parliamentary elections in the date he has specified and the statements and excuses of those who want a delay the elections are not correct.”
 
 
Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Iraq on 12 May 2018.
 
 
Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi called for the return of displaced persons to their hometowns and said that more than 5,000 displaced families have returned to al-Qaim, which is located on the Syrian border in al- Anbar Governorate. 
 
 
“This issue demonstrates the continuation of the return of the people to their hometowns,” he said. 
 
 
His Eminence praised the rise in oil prices to $68 a barrel and noted, “Officials must consider the financial situation of the Iraqi people and not reduce the salaries of employees.”
 
 
Iraqi officials will not allow the return of the Ba’ath party to the government
 
 
Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi condemned the demand of the United Nations to release officials from the Ba’ath regime of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Husayn and stressed that Iraqi officials would not be subjected to this request because such an action would mean the return of the Ba’ath party to the government.
 
 
In another part of his Friday prayer sermon, he referred to the riots over the past few days in Iran and said, “The internal sedition inside Iran has ended through the massive presence of the people on the streets and the endorsement of the current system and once again the Zionist regime’s wish to overthrow the Islamic Republic of Iran has failed.”
 
 
He added, “The pervasive presence of the Iranian people on the scene keeps the plots and plans of the enemies behind their borders and extinguishes the fire of sedition.” 
 
 
Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi urged the youth to be vigilant in the face of the enemies’ conspiracies and stated, “These days, we are witnessing some efforts to mislead the youth, so we must act on our religious and national duty to support the youth.”
