RNA – In a statement issued by Hujjat al-Islam Husayn al-Dayhi, the deputy-secretary general of Bahrain’s al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, condemned the death sentence issued by an Al Khalifah military court against six Bahraini citizens for “forming a terror cell, attempting to assassinate Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaykh Khalifah ibn Ahmad Al Khalifah and committing other acts of terror.”

The Bahraini Shi’ah cleric said, “All the death sentences issued in Bahrain indicate the defeat and the spiritual collapse of the authorities and dominators over the people by means of repression, eradication and power and they seek to compensate for their defeats against their followers with such rulings.”

He added, “The regime has been accustomed to retaliation through the security and justice regimes and whenever it faces political defeats and diplomacy, it will turn to such tricks and now that it has become greatly frustrated, they have resorted to increasing death sentences.”

Referring to the great lunacy of Al Khalifah, Hujjat al-Islam al-Dayhi said, “These death sentences exposed all the false slogans and cartoon organizations that were designed to deceive the ordinary people and the international community and demonstrated that they exploited the judiciary during the time of political failure.”

He stated, “Anyone who investigates the facts, observes that the regime is engaged in a great lie because none of the information and characteristics which it states are not consistent with reality and runs a play which proves the failure of its author and its director.”

Hujjat al-Islam al-Dayhi described all of these actions as “purifying the account” of the Bahraini people and emphasized, “These sentences, detentions and the security and judicial options of the regime demonstrate the weakness and lack of power in the verification of real and concrete achievements that can end the movement and revolution of the people.”

The deputy-secretary general of the al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said, “The assumption of the Bahraini regime, based on the end of the national movement and overcoming the will and determination of the people by such cruel sentences, is an illusion and our people will not allow the regime to taste peace and comfort.”

In conclusion, Hujjat al-Islam al-Dayhi said, “Our information indicates that this regime is preparing for more of these failed plays and security claims in order to implement its political project in 2018 by using a non-independent judiciary. We emphasize that the people are awake and the alert Bahraini nation has overcome all these plays and has sent it to the dustbin of history.”

A Bahraini military court issued its first sentences against the revolutionaries on December 25th, and six citizens were sentenced to death and 15 years imprisonment and expulsion, while seven others were sentenced to seven years in prison and denied citizenship.

Bahraini forces have heavy-handedly cracked down on protests which broke out after the Manama regime sentenced six people to death over terrorism charges.
