RNA – Speaking at a gathering of pro-resistance scholars in Baalbek, Shaykh Ahmad al-Qattan, the head of Lebanon’s Qawluna wal-Amal [Say and Act] Society, strongly criticized the decisiveness promoted by some people who identify themselves as religious scholars and clerics.

The Lebanese Sunni cleric said that some people who introduce themselves as the references of the Islamic ummah are acting in such a way that they are promoting divisiveness among the Islamic ummah, while we must always be vigilant about the danger of sedition and conflict.

Shaykh al-Qattan added, “Palestine and Lebanon were able to withstand the Takfiri and terrorist enemies and expel the Zionists in 2006 and 2017 from our lands.”

He criticized the approach of the countries of the region, saying, “Why are Arab and Islamic governments, the scholars of the Islamic world and the free people of the world’s not taking a firm stand against the Palestinian issue and al-Quds al-Sharif [Jerusalem]?”

In a speech at the White House on December 6th, US President Trump officially declared Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital, saying his administration would also begin a process of moving the American embassy in Tel Aviv to the holy city, which is expected to take years.

The head of Lebanon’s Qawluna wal-Amal Society said, “Taking positions through statements has no value. Taking positions must be based on financial, spiritual and military support and based on all the capabilities that can be used to help the Palestinian resistance movement.”

Stating that confrontation with the enemies is possible only through power, Shaykh al-Qattan, stated, “Hezbollah has the power to confront the enemies and has never used this power inside Lebanon to this day.”

He emphasized that Hezbollah is taking advantage of its power to preserve Lebanon’s national and Islamic unity, as well as confronting the Zionist enemies who are ready to strike at any moment.
