RNA – In a conversation with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Mortaza Adib-Yazdi, an expert in religious affairs, referred to verse 28 of Surah al-Fatir, which states: “And of humans and beasts and cattle there are likewise diverse hues. Only those of God’s servants having knowledge fear Him. Indeed God is all-mighty, all-forgiving” and said, “The victory of the brave people of Islamic Iran, Iraq and Syria against the Daesh Wahhabi-Takfiri terrorists, is a victory over values and history.”

The distinguished cleric and religious lecturer said that according to the clear verses of the Holy Quran, the biography and tradition of the Prophet Muhammad and the Ahlul-Bayt, the scholars have a very high and supreme position and stated, “It is obligatory for Muslims during the Greater Occultation to recognize the enlightened face of Hadhrat Baqiyatullah al-Adham [Imam al-Mahdi] in the blessed faces of the sources of emulation.”

He emphasized that the sources of emulation are the link between the general public and the infallibles and added, “The sources of emulation are the only ones who can deliver the people and the Islamic ummah to the Imam of the Time.”

Hujjat al-Islam Adib-Yazdi pointed out, “History has proven that the profound perspectives of the sources of emulation in regard to cultural, political and social issues have the ability to create enormous changes in the region and the world.”

His Eminence stressed that 1890 Tobacco Protest led by Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad-Hasan Nouri-Shirazi is one example of the power and influence of the sources of emulation in society and added, “The entire nation of Iran, without exception, complied with the one-line fatwa of a source of imitation who lived in Samarra [located in the Ottoman Empire at the time, now in Iraq] and an uproar broke out in the country.”

He said, “The knowledge of the great sources of emulation and the strengthening of these scholars is one of the reasons for their great influence among the Shi’ahs and even among non-Shi’ahs.”

Referring to the “obligatory jihad” fatwa issued by Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, Hujjat al-Islam Adib-Yazdi stated, “With his attention to the needs of the current time and the general requirements of the people, Ayatollah al-Sistani issued a fatwa calling for the people to be present on the battlefield which was immediately obeyed by hundreds of thousands of Syrian and Iraqi people.”

In June 2014, Ayatollah al-Sistani called on all Iraqi citizens to defend “the country, its people, the honour of its citizens, and its sacred sites against the threats posed by the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group.”

The expert on religious affairs stated, “Daesh had a rapid and massive advance in Iraq and even reached the gates of Baghdad, but the fatwa of Ayatollah al-Sistani grabbed the hearts of the Shi’ahs and the masses of the people, although they had few provisions, and they went forth themselves to the battlefield to fight against Daesh.”

Hujjat al-Islam Adib-Yazdi said that by following the rulings of the sources of emulation, the noble people of Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon cleansed the filth of Daesh from all the countries of the world and achieved an unprecedented victory for the Muslims.
