The Iranian parliament speaker reiterated that Muslim humiliation and colonialism have been concealed and still remain, which is well understood in the French colonialism in Algeria, and said, "It is not the case that Westerners were unaware of the history of Muslims and their scientific services, but they have built a sort of hegemony on Muslims."
Larijani also pointed to the end of the ISIL terrorist group's control, and said, "We are grateful to the IRGC’s Quds Force and its brave commander General Soleimani who took a unique step in the fight against terrorism in the region."
In relevant remarks last week, Larijani blasted the US for supporting the terrorist groups in the region, and warned of Washington's fresh plots for the Middle East.
"The United States is the root cause of terrorism in the Middle East; and the US is hatching plots after collapse of the ISIL terrorist group in Iraq and Syria," Larijani told reporters.
He reiterated that the US created the ISIL and Taliban in cooperation with the extremists in the region.
"The US intends to create concern among regional countries about their relations with Iran," Larijani said.
He reiterated that now that the ISIL has been eliminated, Washington seeks new plots and claims that Tehran is a threat to the region.
"This is while we have never attacked any country and it is the US that has constantly threatened countries,” the Iranian parliament speaker added.
In a letter to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei last Tuesday, Commander of the IRGC's Quds Force Major General Soleimani declared the collapse of the ISIL in both Iraq and Syria.
In reply to Soleimani’s letter, Ayatollah Khamenei said the victory over the ISIL in Iraq and Syria is tantamount to the defeat of plots to sow division and wage a civil war in the Middle East.
However, Ayatollah Khamenei warned that the enemy’s deceit should not be overlooked and said those who made huge investment to create the ISIL terrorist group would try to re-hatch their evil plots in another part of the region or in other forms.
