Rasa - Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Jagarian dismissed allegations that Hamas is a terrorist group, describing the resistance movement as one of the real representatives of the Palestinian people.
Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Jagarian

RNA - "Russia doesn’t see Hamas as a terrorist group and interacts with it as one of the main representatives of the Palestinian nation," Jagarian said in a meeting with Representative of the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, in Tehran Khalid Qadoumi on Wednesday.

Noting that Hamas is a national movement, he said that Moscow supports the Palestinian nation and cause.

Jagarian also underlined the necessity for reconciliation and unity among Palestinians.

Qadoumi, for his part, condemned the Zionist regime's crimes against the Palestinians and desecration of their sanctities, and stressed Moscow's support for the Palestinian nation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin underlined in 2015 that his country will help Palestine in achieving its goal of becoming an independent state with the capital in East Jerusalem.

“Russia will continue contributing to the attainment of this goal (Palestine’s independence), working through bilateral multilateral channels,” Putin said at the time.
