Syria in Last 24 Hours:
Rasa - The Syrian army soldiers repelled terrorists' attack on their positions in Deir Ezzur province after hours of clashes, inflicting major losses on them.
Syria

RNA - The ISIL terrorists' attacks to capture the government forces' positions West of Deir Ezzur city were fended off by the strong defense of the Syrian military men.

 

Meantime, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their military advances in other parts of Syria, including Homs, over the past 24 hours.

 

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army's operations in other provinces across Syria.

 

Deir Ezzur

 

The Syrian Army troops, backed up by the country's Air Force, engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL terrorists and repelled their heavy offensive in Deir Ezzur province, inflicting major losses on the militants.

 

The army soldiers clashed with ISIL terrorists that had attacked the pro-government forces' positions near Tal (hill) al-Sonouf West of Deir Ezzur city and managed to fend off their offensive after killing or wounding most of the militants.

 

In the meantime, the army aircraft carried out several combat flights over ISIL's positions in the neighborhoods of al-Roshdiyeh, al-Kanamat, al-Huweiqa, near al-Maqaber (cemetery) region, Panorama base, al-Thardah mountain, Ayyash region and the village of al-Baqaliyeh, destroying several positions and killing or wounding militants inside them.

 

A local source in Eastern Syria reported on Saturday that the ISIL terrorist group concentrated its military equipment in the town of Albu Kamal after the army troops' advances from Eastern Homs towards Deir Ezzur.

 

The source in al-Mayadeen region said that the army's ground and aerial operations against ISIL and pro-government forces' advances from Eastern Homs towards Deir Ezzur caused ISIL to transfer its heavy military equipment, tanks and artillery to the town of Albu Kamal from al-Hazam al-Akhzar that are on the outskirts of the same town.

 

The source further added that the ISIL transferred its tanks to Albu Kamal and started to build more bunkers and fortify basements across the town.

 

The ISIL, meantime, has started planting mines and explosives in the main street of Albu Kamal, the Baghdad street.

 

ISIL's measures came after the army troops and their popular allies expanded control to the third power plant near the town of al-Mayadeen.

 

Damascus

 

The Syrian Army troops continued to hit terrorists' defense lines in Eastern Ghouta and managed to capture more positions in Ein Terma region in a surprising offensive.

 

The army men stormed terrorists' positions in the Northern neighborhoods of Ein Terma region and drove militants out of a number of buildings, including meat-packing company that is one of the most important regions after al-Sonbol petrol station and Zmelka Bridge crossroad.

 

In the meantime, the army's artillery and missile units opened heavy fire at a gathering center of terrorists near Hazarma region.

 

A field source, meanwhile, reported that the Syrian army has been using different tactics, including penetration into terrorist-held regions by armored vehicles, to carry out surprise attacks and night- time operations against terrorist groups.

 

The sources also confirmed that a notorious commander of Al-Nusra Front (also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board) nom de guerre Abu Al-Iman Ordoni along with several of his comrades were killed in the army's air raids in Ein Terma region.

 

Dara'a

 

Over 30 ISIL terrorists were killed in clashes with the rival group of Ahrar al-Sham in Western Dara'a.

 

Jeish Khalid Bin Walid affiliated to the ISIL lost 35 members in a fresh round of clashes with Ahrar al-Sham in the town of Heet in Western Dara'a.

 

In the meantime, the Syrian Air Force carried out several combat sorties over the defense lines of Al-Nusra Front at Nasib border passageway and in the town of Um al-Mayadheen.

 

Also, positions of other terrorist groups in the town of Nawa, Seida, Um al-Mayadheen, township of Nasib and Nasib border customs came under heavy attack of army aircraft.

 

A number of terrorists were killed and several more were wounded in the air raid.

 

Homs

 

The Syrian Army troops, the Lebanese Hezbollah fighters and Russian soldiers launched a new wave of offensives in Southeastern Homs, targeting ISIL's positions near the provincial border with Deir Ezzur.

 

According to battlefield reports, pro-government forces, including the Syrian soldiers, Hezbollah fighters and the Russian army men, started a new phase of large-scale assault in the Humeimeh region, capturing most of the hilltops, while also killing and wounding several Takfiri terrorists along the road to Deir Ezzur province.

 

Also, two huge army convoys brushed aside ISIL resistance in Eastern Homs and pushed through several kilometers of desert to meet around the ISIL bastion of Humeimeh.

 

The units took two hills overlooking Humeimeh and forced ISIL to withdraw from the region during the clashes.

 

Amidst ongoing clashes between pro-government forces and the ISIL terrorist group in areas to the East of Palmyra, footage showed that Russian troops embedded with Syrian Army troops in the frontline in Eastern Homs.

 

According to a battlefield source, the Syrian Army hopes to establish control over the T2 Pumping Station to use it as a launchpad to direct two simultaneous offensives to relieve the besieged provincial capital of Deir Ezzur and to take the border town of Albu Kamal South of the Euphrates.

 

Quneitra

 

The Syrian Army troops managed to fend off another Israeli-backed attack of Al-Nusra Front and restored full security to the town of al-Ba'ath in the Southern province of Quneitra.

 

The army men engaged in fierce clashes with Al-Nusra terrorists and warded off their attack.

 

The army soldiers further carried out a rapid counter-attack and managed to push terrorists back from two lost positions West of al-Ba'ath, restoring full security to the town.

 

The Al-Nusra, backed up by Israel, has carried out several rounds of attacks on pro-government forces' positions.

 

In the meantime, the army units engaged in heavy fighting with Al-Nusra fighters that intended to prevail over the army's defense lines Southeast of al-Hamidiyeh in Quneitra countryside.

 

The army's artillery and missile units, meanwhile, pounded the movements of the terrorists in the region, inflicting major losses on the militants and forcing them to retreat from the battlefield.

 

Field sources confirmed that top Commander of Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at (the Levant Liberation Board) in the region nom de guerre Abu Abdullah al-Na'eemi was killed in the army attack in Quneitra.

 

News websites affiliated to the terrorists confirmed that they have lost all the captured positions to the army men in areas near al-Ba'ath.

 

The websites termed the army's rapid and powerful attack and militants' failure to run coordination as two main reasons of the terrorists' withdrawal from regions near al-Ba'ath.
