RNA – In a statement, the Association of Muslim Scholars in Lebanon, a group of Sunni and Shi’ah scholars, condemned the June 3rd terrorist attack in London.

On Saturday night, three attackers targeted the heart of London. Seven people were killed and were 48 injured when the assailants in a white van mowed down pedestrians on London Bridge before stabbing a police officer and revelers in bars around Borough Market.

Their statement is as follows:

Takfiri terrorism was created by the imperialist powers and was directed toward Islamic countries to implement the conspiracies of the United States and the Zionist regime. After failing to create division and religious and ethnic strife in the Muslim world, they sought to weaken the Islamic ummah and the create civil war.

Today, Takfiri terrorism has returned to its creators and beneficiaries because the terrorists themselves are standing between two options – complete destruction in Iraq and Syria or return to their own countries where they face imprisonment and punishments. Thus, they have chosen the third option – they have decided to attack people in places of global influence, including in the United Kingdom.

We in the Association of Muslim Scholars deplore the terrorist attacks against innocent civilians in London and call on the British government to take measures to ensure that such actions are not repeated. Sufficient information at our disposal shows that the United Kingdom’s intelligence agencies [MI5 and MI6] are fully aware of the decisions made by Daesh.

We hope that the statements made by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Theresa May, in regard to wanting to combat terrorism in a different way mean that she is willing to fight with an iron fist against terrorism and to provide adequate information about British nationals who are members of terrorist groups in Islamic countries and to stop their political and military support [for non-democratic regimes], end their attacks against Syria and Iraq, allow these countries to decide their own fate in the fight against terrorism and facilitate dialogue in Syria to reach solutions that contribute to the return of security and security.

We call on Muslims in the United Kingdom to live like other citizens in this country and adhere to the laws and order in the country. The British government must also provide a decent life to prevent the youth from turning to terrorist groups due to feelings of oppression.

The terrorism and the ideology of Takfiri terrorists and Zionism which the Islamic ummah is now suffering from is due to British colonial policies, such as the Balfour Declaration, which facilitated the establishment of the Zionist regime.

The dependence of Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhab on British intelligence organizations stems from his attempts to distort Islam and to excommunicate all those who oppose his ideas.

If the United Kingdom wants to correct everything that has been destroyed or corrupted, they must apologize for their crimes and everything they have done. Through this means, they can save themselves from terrorism.
