RNA - "The Americans have declared Riyadh as the center for fighting against terrorism; this has been a right move because it is the center of exporting terrorism. If the US succeeds to prevent sending money, weapon and militants from Saudi Arabia to other regions, then neither the twin towers in New York will be exploded nor thousands of innocent Iraqi, Syrian and Lebanese people will be killed and wounded," Larijani said on Tuesday, addressing an open session of the parliament in Tehran.
"It is one of the surprises of out time that the Saudis and the US have become the flagbearers of war against terrorism," he added.
Larijani underlined that it is nearly 60 years that the Saudi government has been promoting Wahhabism in the world under the name of Islam, adding that neither the Sunni Muslims nor other religions accept Wahhabism as it spreads the ideology of violence.
In relevant remarks in April 2016, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan warned the world states of the threat imposed by terrorist groups which are supported by the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia.
"We believe that today the entire world is threatened by insecurity, instability and spread of horror resulted from acts of the Takfiri-Zionist terrorist groups which are supported by the US, Israel and certain regional countries, headed by Saudi Arabia," General Dehqan said, addressing the 2016 Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS).
He also downplayed the effectiveness of the so-called anti-terrorism coalitions by the terrorists' supporters, saying they are not interested in serious and decisive battle against the terrorists and actually reinvigorate and recruit the terrorist groups under the disguise of humanitarian aid, truce, negotiations and deceptive slogans.
Dehqan underlined Iran's assistance to the terrorism-hit countries, and said the country has paid the most costs to this end.
Iran has pioneered in helping the regional states' fight against terrorism, specially Iraq and Syria, and has offered many regional and world states to cooperate in campaign against terrorist groups.
