Rasa - Israeli forces detained at least 20 Palestinians from several districts across the occupied West Bank during detention raids on Tuesday, according to local Palestinian and Israeli army sources.

RNA - Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, Ma'an reported.

 

The United Nations recorded an average of 95 weekly raids in the occupied West Bank in 2016, and 70 weekly raids on average thus far in 2017.

 

According to prisoners’ rights group Addameer, 6,300 Palestinians were held in Israeli prisons as of March, including 300 minors, 61 women, and 500 under administrative detention.

 

Northern West BankLocals from the village of Tell told Ma’an that Israeli forces detained two young men, after raiding the village with more than 15 military vehicles.The two were identified as Hamza Ahmad Said Ramadan, 26, and Samir Taleb Silwadi, 21.

 

Israeli forces also confiscated weapons and money during the raid.An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed the two detentions, adding that one of the two was an alleged Hamas operative.

 

Separately, the spokesperson said one Palestinian was detained from the village of Asira al-ShamaliyaIn the Qalqiliya district, the Israeli army told Ma’an that two Palestinians were detained: one from the village of Azzun, and one from the Kafr Hareth village.Central West BankSeven Palestinians were detained in the Ramallah and al-Bireh districts, according to the Israeli army.

 

The army spokesperson told Ma’an that one Palestinian was detained from Nilin, one from Qarawat Bani Zeid, two from al-Mazraa al-Qibliya, one from Birzeit, and two from Deir Abu Mashaal.In the Jericho district, one Palestinian was detained from the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp.

 

Southern West BankIsraeli forces detained one Palestinian from the Aida refugee camp, located in Bethlehem city.In the Hebron district, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians from the town of Beit Ummar, according to locals and the Israeli army.Local activist from Beit Ummar Muhammad Ayyad Awwad told Ma’an that Israeli forces detained Aziz Mahmoud Muhammad Ikhlayyil, 26, and Muhammad Numan Muhammad Zaaqiq, 23, after raiding their homes.

 

Awwad added that former prisoner Muhammad Zuheir Mahmoud al-Allami, 22, who was released one month ago, was delivered a summons notice to go “meet” with Israeli intelligence at the Etzion detention center, north of Beit Ummar.In the town of Yatta, locals reported that Israeli forces raided several house in after midnight on Monday and detained a Palestinian woman and a “youth.

 

”Locals said Israeli forces detained Suzanne Abu Qubeita after raiding and searching her house.Israeli police spokeswoman Luba al-Samri said in a statement that Israeli police and army forces raided and searched a Palestinian house “suspected with weapon possession” in Yatta and “captured different military tools and two guns.”According to al-Samri, the owner of the house and his wife were detained and transferred to interrogation.

 

Locals added that Mustafa al-Jundi was detained Israeli forces came looking for his brother, but detained him instead after being unable to find his brother.Meanwhile, in the town of al-Samu, locals reported that Israeli forces raided and searched the house of Abd al-Fattah Abu Tabikh, where they confiscated 10,000 shekels ($2,780) and delivered a summons to Abu Tabikh’s son Muhammad to to meet with the Israeli intelligence.

 

Separately, an Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that one Palestinian was detained from the Hebron-area town of Dura.
