RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi, the Friday prayer leader of Qom, referred to the slogan of the new Iranian year of 1396, “Resistance Economy: Production and Employment,” in a response to the question of why the Supreme Leader designated the title of “Resistance Economy” to several consecutive years and noted the current year as an example of this issue.
The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah noted, “In the fight against our enemies, we have been victorious in two political and military conflicts.”
He added that the enemies realized that from both the political and the military paths, they cannot attack Iran and for this reason, they have worked within the organizations and movements of our country, intruded into our constitution and have understood that we will not achieve our goals and ideas in the economic dimension and that we have weaknesses.
Ayatollah Sa’idi said that the enemies assume that economic weakness is a significant and optimistic reason to penetrate and damage our country and as a result, they sought to confront Iran’s Islamic system and government by imposing an economic war on the country.
He said with wisdom, tact and discretion, the Supreme Leader realized the enemies’ conspiracies and in 2010, he mentioned the “Resistance Economy” in a gathering with entrepreneurs and this phrase entered the economic literature of the country for the first time and he offered the required warning and since, he has given great importance to this issue.
The Iranian cleric added that in reality, the Resistance Economy in a form of economic jihad against the economic war that the enemy has imposed on us.
Ayatollah Sa’idi pointed out that the mechanism of economic war with a military war is different and said that in a military war, a specific group of people, especially the youth, enter the battlefield but in an economic war, all are involved – the three executive branches of government and people of all walks of life contribute and are engaged.
His Eminence said economic war is vast and complex so addressing even one aspect of this issue is long, which is why a few years ago, the Supreme Leader raised the issue of the Resistance Economy.
He added, “On the other hand, the belief in such an economic jihad and war hasn’t been established among many officials and people at different levels and on this basis, the Supreme Leader patiently raises this issue every year.”
In conclusion, Ayatollah Sa’idi said, “We hope that everyone, including officials and the people, believe this issue and enter into the arena in a jihad-like manner so that we disappoint the enemies in the political and economic fronts.”
