RNA - The army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL after the latter launched a massive assault on their positions at T4 airbase.

Meantime, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their military advances in other parts of Syria, including Damascus, over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army's operations in Syria's key provinces.

Homs

The Syrian Army troops fended off ISIL's attacks on their positions at T4 military airport in Eastern Homs, inflicting major losses on the militants.

The army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL after the latter launched a massive assault on their positions at T4 airbase from the direction of the Fourth station, killing and wounding a number of them and repelling their attack.

Meanwhile, the army men engaged in tough battle with ISIL terrorists at T4 after they came under attack by the militants from the direction of al-Sharifeh, and could eventually ward off the offensive.

The Russian fighter jets targeted ISIL's positions near the T4 airbase, killing a number of militants and destroying two vehicles.

Syrian Army troops and Air Force targeted the bases and gatherings of ISIL and Al-Nusra Front (that has recently renamed to Fatah al-Sham Front) in different parts of Homs province, inflicting major casualties on the militants.

The army men ambushed a group of ISIL terrorists that had planned to carry out an attack on government forces' positions in al-Brij from al-Qalamoun, killing and wounding a number of terrorists and foiling their plan.

The army aircraft meantime pounded terrorists' bases and gatherings in the village of al-Farhaniyeh in Northern Homs.

The warplanes also bombed heavily the positions of Nusra and other extremist groups in the regions of Sneisel, Um Sharshouh and the farms near the town of Talbiseh in Northern Homs.

Aleppo

The Syrian army troops continued to advance against the ISIL terrorists in the regions surrounding the towns of al-Bab and Deir Hafer and seized full control over another strategic town East of Aleppo province on Saturday.

The army units engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL in the morning and finally freed the town of al-Brij at around midday, inflicting a number of casualties on the militants.

A field source said that the army plans to continue to advance towards the town of Aran after the liberation of al-Brij.

He further added that liberation of the towns of Touman, al-Sheikh Den and Deir Qaq is atop the agenda of the army soldiers.

"Terrorists will come under siege in the Southern towns of al-Sheikh Den and al-Moshayrefeh once the army captures the town of Touman," the source continued.

Reports said earlier on Saturday that the army troops continued their advances against ISIL terrorists in the Eastern parts of Aleppo province and approached the positions of the Turkish forces and Ankara-backed militant groups that are fighting the ISIL in the town of al-Bab.

The army soldiers continued to beat ISIL back from more key positions near al-Bab after they took control over the towns of Salmiyeh and al-Maydouneh and their surrounding farms.

The army men engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL and won back al-Ma'amoun university, the town of Ein al-Jahash and the key hill of al-Moshayrefeh to the West of town of al-Sheikh Den.

The army's advance towards Ein al-Jahash is considered as the first direct advance of government forces towards al-Bab town.

The army troops are now only four towns - namely Aran, Beireh al-Bab, Abu Taltal and Tadif - away from al-Bab and have deployed forces 7km away from the town of Tadif that is the last defense line of terrorist in al-Bab battlefield.

Damascus

Syrian Army troops drove Fatah al-Sham Front out of the key village of Ein al-Fijeh and Damascus's drinking water facilities after two days of clashes, military sources disclosed.

The sources said that the army men that have been engaged in fierce clashes with Fatah al-Sham in the last two days managed to take control over the village of Ein al-Fijeh and entered its water reservoirs and facilities after the last remaining militants surrendered to the government forces.

The army soldiers have started mop-up operation in liberated areas to hunt the remaining pockets of the militants.

Maintenance and protection teams are waiting for the end of cleansing operation to repair the water facilities.

Reports from the battlefields said that the militants that have surrendered will possibly be relocated to militant-held regions in Idlib province.

Deir Ezzur

Syrian Army troops and Air Force along with Russian warplanes started a fresh phase of joint offensives against ISIL terrorists in areas Southwest of Deir Ezzur city to end siege on the city's military airport, inflicting heavy casualties and major damage on the militants.

The army men, backed up by Syrian fighter jets and missile and artillery units, stormed ISIL's concentration centers in al-Maqaber (cemetery) region and managed to advance against the terrorists in the battlefield.

The Russian fighter jets also took part in the government forces' anti-ISIL attacks.

Reports said ISIL has suffered a heavy death toll in the cemetery battle.

In the meantime, the army men targeted an ISIL depot of ammunition near al-Tamin brigade to the West of Deir Ezzur airbase, destroying the depot and killing all the militants inside it.

Idlib

The Al-Nusra Front intensified attacks on Ahrar al-Sham and its affiliated militants and could eventually take control of several towns and villages in al-Zawiyeh mountain.

Al-Nusra fighters stormed the positions of Ahrar al-Sham and its allies and pushed them back from the villages and towns of Deir Sunbul, al-Maqareh and Farkia in al-Zawiyeh mountain.

In the meantime, al-Nusra dispatched three convoys of forces from al-Maqaleh region near Ma'arat al-Nu'aman town to other battlefronts in al-Zawiyeh mountain.

Also, a large military column of Jund al-Aqsa (Ahrar al-Sham's ally) left Jabala region near Kafr Nabl for al-Zawiyeh mountain to take control of the region.

According to the latest reports, Ahrar al-Sham and Soqour al-Sham have gathered their forces and military equipment in al-Zawiyeh mountain.
