RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Hasan al-Masri, the deputy director of the Political Bureau of the Lebanese Amal Movement, explained the current situation in the Middle East and said that the revolutions in the Arab world, some of which have been called “the Arab Spring” should actually be called “the Arab Autumn” because there has been no fruit for the Muslim world.

“During this time, we saw nothing but murder and destruction. The main purpose of creating these revolutions was to combat the Islamic Resistance which has the ability stop the advance of the Zionists,” he stressed.

The Lebanese cleric added that even the slogans raised in the protests were not slogans used in the Arab world or language but rather they were from the West and noted that he slogan “al-sha’bu yazidu taghyir al-nizam” [“the people demand regime change”] is an American English-language slogan which has been translated into Arabic.

“This is obvious because they have placed the subject of the verb before the verb and the object,” he added.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Masri stated that all the crimes committed against the Islamic world have been created and perpetrated by the imperialist powers of the world and added that they laid the foundations of these revolutions in the name of a popular uprising and then gave them a nationalistic flavour.

“They realized that the anti-Zionist sentiment in the Muslim world has risen and have attempted to engross Muslims in domestic issues,” he added.

The Lebanese scholar explained the causes of the crisis in Syria and stated that they attempted to break the line of the Islamic Resistance which links Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. The best pretext for such actions is through the creation of internal conflicts in the heart of the Islamic Resistance – Syria.

“In the name of ‘revolution,’ Takfiris poured into Syria and we all have seen what has happened,” Hujjat al-Islam al-Masri added.

The member of the Amal Movement said that the claims of religious war in the region as a whole has been rejected and that that claims of a Sunni-Shi’ah war are completely false and the conflicts in the region are political conflicts and not religious conflicts.

“For example, in Mosul, Daesh and their regional and international supporters have gone to war against the army and Popular Mobilization Forces of Iraq which is composed of Sunnis, Shi’ahs and Christians,” he said.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Masri stressed that this is also true in regard to Syria and pointed out that contrary to the claims, the war in Syria is a war by the Syrian people and resistance against the Takfiri terrorists.

“While the Arab media introduces the Syrian army as an ‘Alawite army,’ most Syrian troops are Sunnis. If the war in Syria and Iraq was a sectarian war, the conflicts in Libya and Egypt with the Takfiris should also be considered religious wars,” he said.
