RNA - In a meeting with Oman's Interior Minister Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi in Tehran on Sunday, Zarif stressed the importance of improving collective cooperation in order to establish peace and stability in the region.

“Instability and insecurity in any country threaten all countries and the existing insecurity will affect the region and even the entire world,” he said.

The top Iranian diplomat further noted that the country’s very good relations with Oman are rooted in the firm resolve and prudence of the two countries’ senior officials.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has no limitation to the expansion of its relations with Oman,” Zarif added, saying that that Tehran-Muscat relations can serve as a model for other countries in the region.

The Omani minister, for his part, said his country sees no limitations to enhanced relations with Iran, adding that Tehran and Muscat have the potential to further improve ties in all sectors.

At the end of the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister and Omani interior minister signed an agreement to delimit maritime boundaries between the two countries.

Al Busaidi arrived in the Iranian capital on Sunday at the head of a politico-economic delegation.

The Omani official also held talks with Iran's Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli to discuss ways of improving economic and trade relations and security cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Rahmani Fazli emphasized Iran’s determination to improve relations with neighboring countries, noting that religious, cultural and historic commonalities and neighborliness are the reasons why Tehran prioritizes expansion of relations with its neighbors.

He added that enemies of Muslim nations in the region are unwilling to witness unity among friendly countries.

Rahmani Fazli further stated that relations between Tehran and Muscat are based on mutual confidence and can serve as a model for other countries in the region.

Al Busaidi, for his part, said the two countries enjoy age-old and deep-rooted relations.

The two sides also discussed ways to improve economic and trade relations and security cooperation.
