Rasa – The new head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran said that it is important for seminarians to have a deep understanding of the enemies and the West because the Islamic Seminary is in a position where the entire world putting it under scrutiny and there is no doubt that the enemies seek to attack it.

RNA – Speaking at the launch of a course on moral education at Qom’s Haqqani Seminary, Ayatollah Ali-Reza Arafi said Islam is contrary to some theories that came before and after the 1979 Islamic Revolution which say that Islam is a religion which is opposed to civilization.

 

The new head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran said that we see Islam as a religion and civilization and contrary to the theories which marginalize religion, we see religion as present in the context of human life. This civilizational perspective can place us in a position of excellence and our Islamic Seminaries should move toward an Islamic civilization. 

 

Ayatollah Arafi added that the ethics that the late Imam Khomeini taught were comprehensive ethics and were different than the rest of the ethical lessons taught at the time and said: “We are facing a situation where we need seminarians who understand world developments and the Islamic Revolution. Iran as a base of the Islamic Revolution must protect itself from the imperialists who seek world domination and needs righteous people who do not succumb to the evil in the world.”

 

The head of al-Mustafa International University added that it is important for seminarians to have a deep understanding of the enemies and the West because the Islamic Seminary is in a position where the entire world putting it under scrutiny and there is no doubt that the enemies seek to attack it. 

 

Ayatollah Arafi said that knowing the West and their various ideas and methods of thinking is necessary for the progress of seminarians and introducing these ideas in the Islamic Seminary is also necessary.

 

He added that if an army enters a war where it does not know its place, they will not be successful in their operation and if the seminary does not know its place, it will also not be successful. “In order to progsress academically and ethically, we need to have a good understanding of our rivals and enemies,” he said. 

 

His Eminence appealed to all schools, teachers and especially the young and revolutionary seminary students, to strive to give importance to the demands of the Islamic Revolution, the Islamic system of government, the Supreme Leader and the sources of emulation in the seminary.
