RNA – Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi arrived at Imam Sajjad Seminary at 8:45 am on Friday, and he cast his ballots in the mobile ballot box number 505 at the beginning of polling in both the 10th parliamentary and the fifth Assembly of Experts elections.

Referring to the importance of elections in the Islamic Republic, his eminence stated: “I thank God because of having the chance to take part in these elections as well, for this opportunity is a bounty from God.”

He further noted: “Today, when I went to visit the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah, I prayed to God specifically about three issues: First, I asked God to help all those who take part in the elections and to solve their problems. Second, I prayed to Him to make these elections a source of happiness for the Iranian people and the friends of Iran, and a source of disappointment and despair for the enemies. My third prayer to God was that I asked Him to bless the authorities with the opportunity to take more effective actions, compared to past, to solve the problems which the people face.”
