Rasa - Prime Minister Robert Fico made the comments while declaring that multi-culturalism is "a fiction.”
RNA - He told reporters that he would resist the European Commission’s plan for mandatory quotas to share 120,000 asylum seekers among the EU’s member states.
He said: "Not only are we refusing mandatory quotas, we will never make a voluntary decision that would lead to formation of a united Muslim community in Slovakia.
"Multi-culturalism is a fiction. Once you let migrants in, you can face such problems”, he said referring to the Paris shootings in November.
Slovakia is a socially conservative country with a largely Catholic population of 5.4 million people.
Last year, it received just 169 asylum requests. However this year it is being asked to accept 802 migrants under the European scheme.
