Karbala Friday Prayers’ Leader:

RNA – During his Friday prayers’ sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Iraqi city of Karbala, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ahmad al-Safi called on the Iraqi government to support those fighting against ISIL with all the means available.

 

The representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani explained that in the last few days, Iraq’s armed forces, Popular Mobilization Forces and the tribal forces are fighting fierce battles in several areas to eradicate Takfiri terrorists from the country, adding that the have made many significant victories and progress in important areas and have liberated regions from the control of the terrorists.

 

Hujjat al-Islam al-Safi called for the fighters to have patience and persistence on the battlefield and prayed for God to have mercy and to forgive the martyrs and for a speedy recovery for the wounded.

 

His Eminence stated that supporting the fighters in the war against ISIL is a historic and national duty and is a battle of “fate.” He said the Iraqi government with all its institutions and departments must seriously support and provide the fighters with all the means they need so that they can continue their fight and achieve victory.

 

The Iraqi scholar stressed that the fight against terrorism is one of the most important, most honourable and most holy wars in the history of Iraq and added that all those who are fighting with their blood, wisdom and honour for the soil of their country need to understand that Iraq is fighting the most noble and the most holiest war in modern history and this will become clear in the history books.

 

Hujjat al-Islam al-Safi said that the fighters are the pride of the Iraqi people and the future of the country and said that the Iraqi people must honour the fighters and their mothers and fathers for raising such brave children.

 

He stressed the security forces’ need to protect private and public property in the areas they liberate and added that Popular Mobilization Forces, security forces and tribal forces are in the trench of truth and the enemies are in the trench of falsehood and thus, the fighters must maintain truth and justice.

 

Karbala’s Friday prayers’ leader  also called the parliament to develop realistic solutions in the preparation of the 2016 budget to overcome Iraq’s current financial and economic crisis, calling on them to reduce workers’ excessive salaries, fight corruption and prosecute those accused of corruption and work to preserve the rights of the country and the people.
