RNA – In a meeting with Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Hoseyni-Qazvini, the director of Velayat TV, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mohammad-Mahdi Mohaqqeqi, the CEO of Rasa News Agency, appreciated the activities of the pro-unity Shiite satellite channel in clarifying doubts and confronting the satellite channels operated by Wahhabis which broadcasts falsehoods about Shi’a Islam.
Hujjat al-Islam Mohaqqeqi explained that the activities of Velayat TV were formed with the support and favour of the renowned source of Emulation, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi.
“With His Eminence’s sincerity and efforts and due to the situation facing the world today, this channel was formed as a defensive action against the attacks by Wahhabi satellite channels against Shi’ite beliefs,” he explained.
He pointed to the significant damage that the clergy faces today, as well as the risks emanating from the influence and activities of secularists in the Islamic Seminary. He added that there are two streams which herald secularism in the Islamic Seminary – the traditional and intellectual streams.
The researcher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom said that the traditional stream does not care about man’s modern-day achievements and in regard to maintaining traditions and heritage, they are extremists who are opposed to any change.
Hujjat al-Islam Mohaqqeqi added that the new intellectual stream in the Islamic Seminary believes that as a result of the modern world, we must apply religious justification in various fields.
The CEO of Rasa News Agency said that if not addressed by the Islamic Seminary, these two streams can become a threat to the clerical establishment.
“Today, we are witnesses to the soft war being fought by the American and Zionist media and the influence of the West on the culture of Islamic Seminary. The attacks by the enemies’ media organizations which have led to casualties and require resourcefulness and effective measures by those who promote Islamic culture and by religious media organizations,” he explained.
Hujjat al-Islam Mohaqqeqi praised the effective operations by Velayat TV, saying that if this network was not established and we did not accomplish good activities by observing the red lines and framework of the Islamic system of government – such as the issue of Islamic unity and attention to the attacks by Wahhabi and Christian satellite channels and the demands of some opposition and dissident groups who have been able to spread their influence in the country – their efforts could have threatened our society.
