RNA - Israeli al-Quds police commander, Avi Bitton, said those barred from entering the sacred site are charged with “causing trouble and damage” in the compound, adding that other Palestinian women would be allowed entry after presenting identity cards.

Bitton further claimed that the recent restrictions were imposed “to prevent any tensions in the area.”

According to Palestinian NGO Wadi Hilweh Information Center, more than 1,000 Israeli settlers and officers forced their way into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in July.

Head of the center, Jawad Siyam, said 1,130 Israelis stormed the sacred site during the mentioned period; and about "930 Jewish settlers and 200 Israeli" officers forced their way into the mosque compound.
