Iran’s ‘Resistance Economy’ is the only way to economic development

RNA – Ayatollah Sayyed Ahmad Alamolhoda delivered a sermon marking Eid al-Fitr, the Festival of the Breaking of the Fast, to a large crowd of worshippers at Mashhad’s Holy Shrine of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha (A) on Saturday morning.

His Eminence said that the United States frequently makes claims against Iran but these claims are always without reason and proof. “Before invading Iraq in 2003, the Americans alleged that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction but after half million Iraqis were murdered, they said ‘we were wrong.’ Then they claimed that Iran is seeking nuclear weapons and announced that Arab countries face two enemies – ISIL and Iran,” he said.

The Friday prayer leader of Mashhad stressed that that the US is a phenomenon which seeks to achieve its goals through its baseless claims and added that the Iran should not imagine that all of its challenges with the US will end just because it reached an agreement with the P5+1 group of countries. “Whether knowingly or unknowingly, did those who dream of reopening the American embassy in Iran read or hear the statement made by the US Defence Department?” he said.

Ayatollah Alamolhoda said that some people are attempting to “beautify the image of the United States,” saying that some Iranians seek to build a relationship and join hands with the animals that have bitten them numerous times during the past half-century so that they can live comfortably. “However, it cannot be this way, because the [US] is the same fierce and bloodthirsty beast and if the lost path finds us, the sting will be greater,” His Eminence stressed.

In regard to Iran’s economic issues, the revered scholar noted that there only one way to expand and develop the economy - through strengthening the “resistance economy.” “This is the way which Ayatollah Khamenei has advised for us,” he said.

He noted that the words spoken by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and the American Secretary of State, John Kerry, are code for multinational companies throughout the world that says: “Oh thieves, Iran has opened its gates, go and steal!”

Ayatollah Alamolhoda said that before the Islamic Revolution, Iran’s gates were open and foreign markets operated freely in the country. “How much development did we have? The greatest advantage of the Islamic Revolution was that it provided opportunities for our local talents and capabilities to flourish,” he said.
