Rasa – Shiekh Ali Salman, one of the key Bahraini opposition figures transmitted his message of condolences over the demise of Ayatollah Muhammad-Mahdi Asefi from inside the al-Khalifa prison.

RNA – The head of Bahrain’s main opposition party, al-Wefaq National Society, Sheikh Ali Salman who was taken into custody late last year on a number of charges, condoled the demise of the representative of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in Najaf.

 

The message published from inside the al-Khalifa prison on Friday.

 

Other Bahraini opposition figures have also expressed their condolences in separate messages. The figures include Grand Sheikh Isa Qassim, Sayed Jawad Al Wada'ei, Sayed Abdullah al-Ghuraifi and Sheikh Abdul-Hussain Al-Sitri.

 

According to Rasa News, Ayatollah Muhammad-Mahdi Asefi passed away Thursday, at the age of 78 following a long time suffer from a liver cancer.

 

The body of the late Ayatollah will be buried in Najaf in accordance to his will.
