Rasa - The representative of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in the holy city of Najaf, Ayatollah Arefi, passed away on the morning of Thursday, June 4th shortly after his morning prayer.
RNA – The representative of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in the holy city of Najaf and a member of the Supreme Council of the Ahlulbayt World Assembly, Ayatollah Arefi passed away on Thursday morning, June 4th shortly after his morning prayer.
Ayatollah Arefi had long been suffering from liver cancer.
According to Rasa News Agency, the body of the revered scholar will be buried in Najaf according to his will.
Details about the exact time and whereabouts of the burial ceremony is yet to be announced.
The office of Ayatollah Arefi issued a statement on the occasion.
