Abdul Hadi Arwani

RNA - Abdul Hadi Arwani, who was in his late 40s, was found dead with gunshot wounds to his chest while sitting in his vehicle in a street in northwest London.

A murder investigation was launched after a man named locally as Syrian-born Abdul Hadi Arwani, the former imam at An-noor mosque, was discovered in his car in Wembley, north-west London, on Tuesday morning.

Arwani who had studied Shariah in Jordan was a lecturer at several religious seminaries in the British city of Slough and also London and was regarded as an expert on marriage contracts and divorce law.

The Syrian-born preacher who had links to Takfiri militant groups, was said to be an open critic of the Syrian government.

Armed anti-government groups in Syria have been wreaking havoc there since 2011. The Takfiri militants have spread their terror campaign to Iraq and other countries as well, even to European countries, killing innocent people and carrying out horrendous acts of terror.
