RNA – Days after the attack in Qatif which resulted in the death of a police officer Abdulaziz Al-Asiri at a checkpoint close to Awamiya, a number of religious scholars and community leaders from Qatif Province issued a statement to denounce use of violence against police officers.
The statement signed by 30 prominent figures praised the efforts of security men in combating extremism and terrorism and maintaining security and stability of the state. It also condemned targeting police officers, explaining that bloodshed is against Islamic teachings.
Also on the 16th of December, a delegation from Qatif included Sheikh Abdullah Al-Khunaizy, the Ex judge of Endowments and Inheritance and other figures, held a meeting with the Governor of the Eastern Province Saud bin Naif.
The delegation members expressed their condemnation and denunciation of the crime. They said that “people of Qatif reject all forms of violence and terrorism, and that the perpetrators do not represent Qatif.
During the meeting the Governor called all Saudis to unite in order to eliminate terrorism.

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings on Muhammad,
We praise and appreciate the efforts of security officers in combating terrorism and extremist groups to maintain security of the state and citizens. Targeting and attacking security men while performing their national responsibility is contradicting with the Islamic teachings which criminalize violence and bloodshed. Therefore we condemn the attack which resulted in the death of a member of security officers on December 16 at a checkpoint in Qatif.
We ask mercy and forgiveness for the officer Abdulaziz Al-Asiri as we condolences his family and relatives and ask Allah to preserve security and stability of our country.
