RNA – Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani has met with a group of officials responsible for monitoring and assessing the Revolutionary Guards of the Islamic Revolution.

Referring to the new round of nuclear talks in the Omani capital Muscat, His Eminence stressed the need for continued negotiations to reach a desired outcome.

“However, on the other hand, we must also realize that [US president] Barack Obama said ‘we will not give Iran the opportunity and permission to develop their nuclear energy program.’ [Obama] claims that Iran was brought to the negotiating table due to fear of sanctions and American power. He has repeatedly accused Iran of terrorism and creating insecurity in the region...” His Eminence stated.

[Because] they want to turn Iran away from God’s guiding light, their work is futile and will not reach the desired result... we must remain diligent against them,” he added.

In another part of his lecture, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stated that in the Holy Quran, God has promised abundant blessings on his servants. “It is true that God’s blessings cannot be counted, but we must not forget the blessings of God.”

The revered source of emulation narrated a saying from Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq in this regard and said the greatest blessing of God is the wilayah or guardianship of the Ahlul-Bayt. “The Islamic Revolution took place in the same context,” Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stated.

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani emphasized that we must know the influential characteristics and the magnitude of the Islamic Revolution. “The foremost characteristic is the religious and Islamic orientation of our revolution. Other revolutions throughout the world have been worldly and secular-based and did not pay attention to God or spirituality. Our revolution was established by a Godly man and a jurisprudent, thus it has had a deep impact,” he stated, according to Rasa News Agency.

The second characteristic of our revolution is the existence of the system of Wilayat al-Faqih [Guardianship of the Jurisprudent] at the head of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. “There have been centuries of authoritarian and colonial rule throughout the world but the rule by a just jurisprudent as the head of a government can solve and remove many of the problems which plague mankind,” Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani explained to his guests.

His Eminence also stating that fighting against imperialism is another important characteristic of the Islamic Revolution and Iran’s power in the resistance against imperialism has reached the point where all of the imperial powers in the world are increasingly threatened of Iran’s growing power.

The revered source of emulation stated that the Islamic Revolution is the refuge of the weak and oppressed of the world: “Before the Islamic Revolution, the great suffering which our people experienced was not acknowledged by the government. But our revolution established a government of the people which rescued the oppressed and weak people of the world from the domination of the arrogant powers.”

He added that Iran’s Islamic Revolution revived the culture of jihad and martyrdom: “Before the Islamic Revolution, martyrdom was only explained in reference to the incident of Karbala, but Imam Khomeini strived hard to revive this culture in society. Now, millions of lovers of martyrdom exist in our country, as well as other Islamic countries. The Infallible Imams explained that martyrdom has a very lofty value.”

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani referred to the warmongering of the agents of the arrogant powers in the region: “Due to the events in Iraq and Syria, they have a great animosity against Iran but due to our industrial and military prowess and great power, they are afraid of us. Because of this fear, ISIL and other groups will not dare to launch an offensive against Iran.”
