Rasa - The organization has warned that the peace activist’s health condition “will deteriorate so rapidly that he will die.”

Rasa News Agency reports – In a statement issued by the Amnesty International, the London-based non-governmental organization demanded the immediate release of the Bahraini political activist, Abdulhadi al-Khawaja, who has been on hunger strike since 25th of August.


According to Amnesty International, al-Khawaja had told his family the previous day when they visited him in prison that he go on “a full hunger strike” and that he would refuse to be taken to either hospital or the prison clinic.


The organization has also warned that the peace activist’s health condition “will deteriorate so rapidly that he will die.”


Abdulhadi al-Khawaja has been jailed since 2012 and sentenced to life in prison. The peace activist also went on hunger strike for 110 days in 2012 in protest at his detention.
