Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah:
US has been defeated in Syria

RNA – Speaking to the al-Manar television channel, Hujjat al-Islam Na’im Qasim, the deputy ‎secretary-general of Lebanon’s Hezbollah ‎Islamic Resistance movement, noted the defeat of ‎the United States in Syria and said, “The United States and its allies are incapable of ‎designing a plan for their future due to their huge failure and not reaching the goals they ‎planned for.”‎

The Shi’ah cleric added, “The recent visit by Mike Pompeo, the Secretary of State of the ‎United States, to the region was to cover up their defeat in Syria and give hope to its allies.”‎

Mentioning the trip to Lebanon by David Hale, the United States Under Secretary of State for ‎Political Affairs, Hujjat al-Islam Qasim noted, “David Hale clearly knows that he cannot force ‎Lebanon and its officials to do what the United States wants. Those who supported Takfiri ‎and Terrorist groups in the region and don’t care about Zionist regime’s daily aggressions ‎against Lebanon are not in a position to advise people.”‎

His Eminence reiterated, “The future of Lebanon must be built by the hands of the Lebanese ‎people themselves and the amy, people and the Islamic Resistance Forces are capable of ‎protecting Lebanon. It’s best for Lebanon not to trust the vicious plans of the United States ‎that are aimed at destroying the region.”‎

‎“The key to Lebanon’s problems is in the hand of the people,” he said, adding, “Increasing ‎tensions in Lebanon will result in increasing financial, social and livelihood problems. ‎Therefore, the Lebanese government must be formed soon as possible.”‎

Hujjat al-Islam Qasim said, “Some have forgotten that the main and greatest problem of the ‎region is the Zionist regime itself. Israel’s mere existence and their daily offenses and ‎aggressions against Palestine are the main problems of the Middle East. The Zionist regime is ‎behind most of the problems in the region. So, as long as the Zionist regime exists, the ‎Middle East’s problems will never be solved.”‎
