On the 19th night of the holy month of Ramadhan, the religious ceremony on Laylat al-Qadr, ‎was held at the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah in Qom.‎

RNA – On the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ali, the first Shi’ah Imam, the religious ‎ceremony of Laylat al-Qadr, or the Night of Destiny, was held on May 12th at Holy Shrine of ‎Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah in Qom with the observance of health protocols.‎

The Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah has been shut down due to COVID-19 ‎Coronavirus outbreak.‎

With the decision of the National Task for Combating Coronavirus, Laylat al-Qadr religious ‎ceremonies can be held in the open spaces and halls of the pilgrimage centres, with the ‎observance of social distancing and health protocols.‎

Laylat al-Qadr is the night of the revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad.‎

The exact date of Laylat al-Qadr is unknown. However, according to many traditions, Shi’ahs ‎hold religious ceremonies on the eve of 19th, 21st, and 23rd of the month of Ramadhan, ‎with staying awake the whole night, reciting the Qur’an, praying and performing other rituals.‎
