The revered source of emulation urged all people to take their healthcare and hygiene seriously while keeping calm and avoiding anxiety due to the circumstances of the presence of the Novel Coronavirus in Iran.

RNA – In a speech, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi referred to the infection of 28 Iranian nationals and the deaths of five others due to the Novel Coronavirus and emphasized the necessity of hygiene.

The revered source of emulation advised the people to maintain peace and avoid anxiety in society and said, “The people must trust in God Almighty while taking matters of healthcare and hygiene seriously. It’s worthy to recite Ziyarat Ashura and Hadith al-Kisa in all houses because these two noble supplications can boost the spirit of everybody and have valuable effects.”

Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi emphasized, “Presence in public centres is not appropriate (for containing the disease). You must know that one of the things that is obligatory is protecting your life and your health and if anybody neglects this, then they will be held responsible in front of God.”

His Eminence added, “While maintaining calmness, the people must pay close attention to the instructions and warnings given by health officials and act on them.”

Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said, “We also go into prostration after prayers, we pray for the solution of such problems. God-willing, these prayers will be effective provided that the people perform their duties in regard to health and hygiene.”
