Iranian Leader's Top Aide:
Iranian Supreme Leader's top adviser for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati said US President Donald Trump is following the same anti-Palestinian policy practiced by former American administrations, adding that, however, this time the White House is exposing bare its real face which will unite all Palestinian fractions.

RNA - In an interview with Khamemeni.ir published on Friday, Velayati touched upon the so-called “Deal of Century” scheme proposed by Trump, and described it a plot in line with the Westerners’ stage-by-stage plan for occupying the whole land of Palestine, adding that, however, the move had a positive outcome which was uniting Palestinians.

“What Trump did is the same as the previous US presidents but Trump's action had a positive outcome" that is unifying different Palestinian groups he added, saying, “Mahmoud Abbas, Hamas, the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, and etc. rejected the US plan which shows that the Palestinians came to the conclusion that they won’t achieve to any success through negotiation, and resistance is the only way for advance.”

“I am very optimistic about the future because Trump’s plan is actually a kind of political suicide,” he stressed.

Defying international outcry, Trump last week announced the general provisions of the plan at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his side.

The scheme — which all Palestinian groups have unanimously rejected — largely meets Israel’s demands in the decades-old conflict, while creating a Palestinian state with limited control over its own security and borders.

It enshrines Jerusalem al-Quds as “Israel’s undivided capital” and allows the regime to annex settlements in the occupied West Bank and the Jordan Valley, among other controversial terms.

According to Fars News Agency, Palestinian leaders, who severed all ties with Washington in late 2017 after Trump recognized Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of the Israeli regime, immediately rejected the plan, with President Mahmoud Abbas saying it “belongs to the dustbin of history.”

Thousands of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and besieged Gaza Strip poured out onto the street in immediate condemnation of the plan.

Muslims all across the world have also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian cause and denounced the Trump's proposed plan.
