Ayatollah Shabzendehdar:
The jurisprudent member of the Guardian Council called negligence a hindrance to the development of man’s spiritual relationship and said, “The requirement of man’s promotion is the obliteration of the deterrents blocking the path towards the source of grandeur.”

RNS - “The jurisprudent member of the Guardian Council, Ayatollah Muhammad Mehdi Shabzendehdar, holding his course of ethics in Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, stressed man’s use of opportunities and said, “A significant problem of the man is negligence.”

He added, “Man doesn’t appreciate many blessings he enjoys in his regular life. The cause of such negligence is the habitual everyday enjoyment of these blessings. This is a grave problem, however, Islam has provided some effective solutions in this regard.”

Ayatollah Shabzendehdar stated, “There are multiple deterrents to man’s reaching the Heavenly source of grandeur. These deterrents can be both material and immaterial. The man should seize whatever opportunity he finds; besides, he is supposed to resolve the issue of negligence through proper attention to Islam, Tawhid and the Heavenly power and attributes.”

He finally maintained, “Prejudice and ignorance destroy man’s mundane world and Hereafter. Ahl al-Bayt and their instructions make a good example for directing us to the Heavenly source of grandeur.”
