Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, in a post on his Twitter page, said that the US’ costly adventurism in the Middle East has worsened the situation, adding that the White House is being manipulated by pro-Netanyahu Zionist lobbies who are after their own interests at the cost of all others.

RNA - "When it comes to conflict in our region, IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY: Donald Trump confessed US has spent $7 trillion here, only to worsen the situation," Zarif wrote in a tweet on Saturday afternoon.

The top Iranian diplomat added that the US president's costly and wrong support for the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could have repercussions.

"It’s Netanyahu Firsters always making the wrong choice in his service—at expense of all else—and expecting different results," he continued.

Last week, Zarif warned Trump to stay away from a trap laid by those who prioritize Israel over the US, saying that blacklisting the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps as a terrorist group will push the American forces in the region into a quagmire.

The Irainan diplomatic chief warned that the move is intended “to drag (the) US into a quagmire” on the behalf of Israel.

Zarif also posted two screenshots from news pieces along with his tweet, one titled as “Has Trump Become Adelson’s ‘Perfect Little Puppet’?”, and another “john Bloton: No Regret On Iraq War”.

Sheldon Adelson, a pro-Zionism billionaire, is believed to be a big contributor to Trump’s election campaigns. Adelson and John Bolton are wielding big influence over Trump.

In another tweet on Monday, Zarif referred to Trump's close ties with Netanyahu as a main contributor to the gravely wrong move made by the US president ahead of the Tuesday election in Israel.

"A(nother) misguided election-eve gift to Netanyahu. A(nother) dangerous US misadventure in the region," Zarif wrote on Twitter, referring to the IRGC designation as yet another move by the US president in aid of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after Trump's recent decision to recognize Israel's annexation of the Syrian Golan Height.

The US' Golan Heights decision, which is in obvious contravention of international law, has been met with condemnation by the international community, with the UN and even Washington's Persian Gulf and European allies blasting the move.
