Hundreds of thousands of Iranians have taken to the streets to call for revenge after US assassination of IRGC Quds Force commander General Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad.

Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi condemned the US in a message of condolence on the martyrdom of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Qods Force Commander General Qassem Soleimani.

Iran’s Intelligence Ministry in a statement strongly condemned the US horrendous crime in Iraq, and said that Washington’s crimes will not go unpunished.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps in a statement on Friday vowed that the enemies of the Islamic Revolution, specially the US and the Israeli regime, should prepare themselves for harsh responses after the assassination of IRGC Qods Force Commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.

Iran has summoned the Swiss charge d’affaires, whose country represents US interests in Iran, over Washington's assassination of Gen. Qassem Soleimani, decrying the attack as a "blatant instance of state terrorism".

Scores of Iranian athletes, cineastes, actors, officials and celebrities have posted photos of Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Qods Force Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated by the US, on their social media pages with messages of condolences and condemnation.

Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi reiterated that the resistance front will continue fight against terrorism after the US assassinated Iran’s top military commander General Qassem Soleimani.
