Exegetist of the Holy Quran:
Hujjat al-Islam Ansarian referred to the spread of the Coronavirus and the helplessness of man against it and said, “I now understand the meaning of the phrase ‘For I am Your weak, lowly, base, wretched and miserable slave’ in Du’a Kumayl.”

RNA – In a video message, Hujjat al-Islam Hoseyn Ansarian, an exegetist of the Holy Quran and religious speaker, pointed to the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the helplessness of man against it and said, “Many times when I saw a verse, narration or part of a supplication, its profundity wasn’t clear to me until certain incidents occur that would clarify their depth for me and increase my certainty. I’ve been reciting Du’a Kumayl for more than sixty years but I didn’t fully understand when the Commander of the Faithful [Imam Ali] said, ‘For I am Your weak, lowly, base, wretched and miserable slave.’”

He said, “With the spread of the Coronavirus, all medical scientists, academics, drugs, tools and human powers, I understood the meaning of Imam Ali’s words. It’s obvious that in the face of the power of God, nothing works and no power has a place. I wish that the people of the world would realize this fact and pay attention to God so that God would pay attention to the people of the earth and eliminate this tribulation and epidemic.”

Hujjat al-Islam Ansarian added, “The people of the world can at least repent of their sins and mistakes for this consideration.”
