Thousands of Jordanians rallied for the third week in the Jordanian capital of Amman against the US President Donald Trump's Middle East peace plan, known as the “Deal of the Century”.

RNA - Thousands of people took part in the demonstration, which started in front of the city's Al-Husseini Mosque, amid a heavy security presence, while chanting slogans against the Israeli occupation and the deal, Wafa news agency reported.

Protesters carried Jordanian and Palestinian flags and held up signs expressing rejection of the “Deal of the Century” and the recently signed Jordan-Israel gas deal.

Earlier this month, King Abdullah II reaffirmed Jordan's "firm position" on the Palestinian issue and said Jordan will continue to back the Palestinian people in their effort to create an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
