The revered source of emulation said that it’s our duty to stand against the surrender of al-‎Aqsa Mosque and the Golan Heights to the Zionists and added, “We must not remain silent in ‎the face of the arrogance of the hegemonic powers.”‎

RNA – Speaking at a ceremony marking the beginning of the new academic year at al-‎Mustafa International University in the auditorium of the university’s Imam Khomeyni ‎Specialized University campus in Qom, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani stressed ‎that it’s not the duty of the scholars and seminarians to remain silent in the face of the ‎hegemony and added, “It’s our duty [as seminarians and scholars] to stand against the ‎surrender of al-Aqsa Mosque and the Golan Heights to the Zionists.”‎

The revered source of emulation said that the Islamic Seminaries were of interest to the ‎Infallible Imams and added, “The Islamic Seminaries are different from other academic ‎centres and they must considered with sanctity.”‎

He stated that education in the seminary has two stages – seminary studies and ijtihad and ‎said, “Sincerity, ambition, determination, the avoidance of laziness, perseverance and ‎respect for one’s teachers are necessary in order to succeed in the path of seeking and ‎attaining ijtihad.”‎

Pointing out that the first step on the path of seminary studies is seeking sincerity, Ayatollah ‎Nouri-Hamadani said, “With sincerity, blessings will be found in knowledge and without ‎sincerity the seminarian won’t find success.”‎

The prominent teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom stated that the students must seek ‎ijtihad and higher positions from the beginning of their studies and said, “The path of ‎seminary studies is the way of scholars such as Shaykh Mufid and Shaykh Tusi and the ‎seminarians must work hard in this direction.”‎

He stated that all of the activities of the seminarians must be based on order and added, ‎‎“One who doesn’t have willpower is doomed to fall behind.”‎

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani pointed to the importance of Arabic and Persian literature in the ‎academic progress of the seminarians and added, “One of the books that the seminarians ‎must be familiar with is Nahj al-Balaghah [The Peak of Eloquence].” ‎

His Eminence described theology as one of the fundamental sciences and stated, “The first ‎duty of the scholars is to address the issues of theology and the subjects of faith and ‎belief.”‎

He noted that there are many doubts in the society and added, “Seminarians must respond ‎to the doubts among the people by reinforcing their logical proofs and reasoning.”‎

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani referred to the necessity for foreign scholars to return to their ‎home countries to explain the teachings of Islam and added, “Recognizing the present era ‎and the enemies are among the essential characteristics of seminarians in the world today.”‎
