RNA – A ceremony to unveil the translated books and a commentary of Nahj al-Balaghah ‎‎[The Peak of Eloquence] entitled “The Religion of Wisdom and Mysticism” and the book ‎‎“Cognition and Intuition,” a translation and commentary ‎on Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah [The ‎Scripture of Sajjad] which were written by Ayatollah Hasan Mamdouhi, a teacher of ethics ‎and a member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom, was held with the attendance ‎of researchers and media representatives at Rasa News Agency.‎

At the ceremony, which was held in the presence of Ayatollah Mamdouhi and Hujjat al-Islam ‎Mohammad-Mahdi Mohaqeqqi, the director of the Rasa News Agency, the latest works of ‎this outstanding teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom were unveiled.‎

Ayatollah Mamdouhi, after revealing the commentaries on Nahj al-Balaghah and Sahifah ‎Sajjadiyyah, referred to the background of the writing of his commentary of Nahj al-Balaghah ‎and said, “In the past few years, some people have come up to me and said that they need ‎to have a commentary on Nahj al-Balaghah in regard to which the quality of the content is ‎good as well as being written in plain language.”‎

The teacher of ethics ‎in the Islamic Seminary of Qom continued, “I told one of these ‎individuals to bring me a copy of Nahj al-Balaghah of which one side of the page has writing ‎on it and the other side is blank. After several weeks, such a book was brought to me but ‎there was no longer any news of this person and we looked for him for several years but no ‎institution or individual knew of him. Therefore, I decided to start this project personally and ‎today, now that the translation and commentary of Nahj al-Balaghah has been completed, ‎the name and location of that individual isn’t known but it made me write this book.”‎

In regard to the features of translation and commentary on Nahj al-Balaghah, Ayatollah ‎Mamdouhi‎ said, “In the writing of this book, no other book or person has been imitated. In ‎other words, writing of this book wasn’t taken to merely increase the number of pages but ‎all the topics are deep and if someone was quoted, that person is related to the teachers.”‎

His Eminence continued, “The translation and commentary on Nahj al-Balaghah is such that if ‎you refer to any page, you will find a new subject and content and no subject and no ‎repeated content ‎will be found. Also, we have tried to use the sayings of Imam Ali which ‎have important points and we have passed over ordinary sayings.”

He also referred to the duration of the writing of commentary on Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah and ‎said, “Before the Islamic Revolution, I delivered a commentary on Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah ‎on ‎the radio which was suspended after the Revolution but I decided to collect the subjects and ‎contents ‎that I didn’t deliver in a notebook and this content filled thirteen notebooks.”‎

Ayatollah Mamdouhi‎ ‎added, “In the commentary on Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah, ‎as well as in the ‎translation and commentary on Nahj al-Balaghah, I sometimes spent an hour searching in ‎regard to the translation [of a word] in order to translate it in accordance with the intention ‎and aim of the Imam such that more than three thousand words have been translated [into ‎Persian from Arabic] in the commentary on Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah, which is also one of the ‎favours of Imam Ali al-Sajjad.”

Regarding the news of the writing of a exegesis on the Holy Quran, he announced, “In this ‎exegesis ‎all rational, theological and philosophical principles are given.”‎
