Idlib

The Ankara-backed terrorists stationed near the town of Mar'anaz in Aleppo launched false-flag rocket and artillery attacks against the Turkish army positions inside Syria to give pretext to Turkey to pound the Syrian army points, an informed security source in Syria said on Sunday.

The source was quoted by the Arabic-language al-Mayadeen news channel as saying that the Ankara-backed terrorists advanced towards the Syrian army positions in Mar'anaz with the Turkish army's heavy artillery backup but they were surrounded by the Syrian army forces and a number of them were killed and wounded in clashes between the two sides.

He added that the terrorists called for the Turkish army assistance, but the Turkish soldiers were trapped in a mine field in the region and a number of them were wounded.

The source said that the Turkish side urged Russia to mediate a ceasefire to collect the wounded Turkish soldiers, adding that the Turkish army operations in Northern Aleppo were aimed at delaying the Syrian army's long-waited military operations in Idlib province which was due to start on Monday.

He added that the Ankara-backed militants conducted the operations after Turkey's green light, noting that over 200 Syrian army forces have been killed during suspicious moves by the Turkish side and offensives by Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay'at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) in the past 4 months.

Deir Ezzur

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces arrested a large number of people in a region in Deir Ezzur in Eastern Syria to crack down on popular protests as tensions have increased between civilians and the SDF in the region.

People in the towns of Dornaj and Qaranij in Eastern Deir Ezzur protested against the SDF and blocked the roads leading to these towns while calling for the exit of the SDF.

The SDF rushed to clamp down on protests arresting, at least, 60 people.

They pointed to people's fury due to SDF's measures against the population, and said that the number of people killed in SDF prisons has considerably increased over the past two weeks.

Hama

The Turkish Army abandoned the areas under its control to monitor terrorists' movements in the demilitarized zone as tensions have intensified in Northern Syria.

The Turkish Army has commenced evacuating its observation posts in Jabal Shahshabou in Northwestern Hama, the Arabic-language version of the Russian Sputnik news agency quoted local sources in Northern Syria as saying.

The report said the Turkish Army helicopters were evacuating forces from the region.

According to Fars News Agancy, it pointed to the Syrian Army's response to the Ankara-backed National Liberation Front (NFL) terrorists' attack on the government forces' military positions in this region, and said that the observation posts have not come under any missile or artillery attacks by the Syrian Army.

Meantime, Turkish sources claimed that four Turkish military forces were injured during the Syrian Army's artillery attack on a Turkish Army observation post in Idlib province, but all of them were transferred for medial treatment.

The Arabic-language SANA news agency, meantime, quoted a military source as saying that the terrorists stationed in Idlib have dispatched a large number of militants and military equipment to Hama and Lattakia over the past several days to prepare them for attacking the safe zones and military points there.

The source noted that a large number of terrorists have been sent to Mourek region in Northern Hama.

Meantime, the Syrian Army's artillery units pounded the movements of Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay'at terrorists in the town of Kafar Naboudeh and al-Amiqeh in Northwestern Hama and the towns of Ha'as, Safouhen, Ahsam, al-Janoudieh and al-Hobait in Southern Idlib to the safe zone in Northern Hama, destroying their military equipment and inflicting heavy losses on them.
