A senior commander of Hashd al-Shaabi (Iraqi Popular Forces) underlined his forces' full preparedness to enter the Syrian territories for military operations against the ISIL to establish security at common borders.

RNA - The Arabic-language al-Ma'aloumeh news website quoted Hashd al-Shaabi's Commander in al-Anbar province Qassim Muslih as saying on Monday that his forces are ready to be deployed in the depth of Syria to liberate the regions bordering Western al-Anbar.

He added that Hashd al-Shaabi is waiting for the Iraqi commander in chief to issue the order to start attacking ISIL-occupied areas inside Syria near the border with Iraq.

Muslih said that the Iraqi and Syrian sides enjoy high levels of coordination to establish security at common borders.

Iraqi sources reported on Wednesday that over 43 terrorists were killed and wounded in a preemptive strike by Hashd al-Shaabi on the ISIL in Syrian territories near the borders with Iraq.

According to Fars News Agancy, Muslih said that his forces attacked a gathering of ISIL in Baqouz region in Southeastern Syria with artillery fire.

He added that the terrorists were preparing for attacks against Hashd al-Shaabi at the borders with Syria, noting that over 43 ISIL militants were killed and wounded in the offensive.

Several vehicles of the terrorists and their fuel tanks were destroyed in the attack.
