Rasa – A spokesman for the Ansarullah described the controversial statements by a Saudi minister regarding the participation of Palestinians in the Hajj and the praise of the Zionist regime as “dangerous.”

RNA – Muhammad Abdul-Salam, the spokesman for the Yemeni popular movement Ansarullah, warned against the misuse of the Hajj pilgrimage by Saudi Arabia in order to officially recognize the Zionist regime.

He described the words of Abdul-Latif Al al-Shaykh, the Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, as “dangerous.”

On August 21st, in a video shared widely online, Al Shaykh compared the Zionist regime with the Qatari government by praising Israel for “allowing” its Muslim citizens to go on this year’s Hajj pilgrimage and claimed that Israel didn’t prevent Muslims from travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, which must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all adult Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey.

He said, “Israel, despite what we know, has not prevented Muslims from travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj, while another country [referring to Qatar] prevented his citizens from reaching Makkah to perform the Hajj.”

Abdul-Salam said that the words of the Saudi Minister and his recognition of the Zionist regime as a “government” are the basis for equating the Hajj in exchange for the recognition of Israel.
