Rasa - A number of ISIL terrorists were killed and their military equipment were destroyed in popular uprising in Deir Ezzur city and in the Southeastern part of the province amid rapid advances of the Syrian army troops towards Deir Ezzur, local sources reported Friday.

RNA - The sources reported that a group of residents of Sheikh Yassin neighborhood in Deir Ezzur city stormed ISIL's vehicles, destroying it and killing two terrorists.

 

Also, people in the village of al-Jala'a in countryside of the town of Albu Kamal engaged in heavy fighting with ISIL and killed two non-Syrian terrorists, the sources added.

 

They went on to say that members of the supreme council of ISIL in a meeting in Albu Kamal engaged in fierce clashes with each other following their argument over decreasing role of Iraqi commanders of the ISIL and dismissal of several of them from their posts.

 

The sources further said that a new group of ISIL members, including several commanders escaped Eastern Deir Ezzur.

 

In relevant developments in the province last month, the Russian Air Force targeted a number of ISIL positions in the Eastern city of Deir Ezzur and its outskirts, destroying a large depot of arms and ammunition in the city's districts.

 

The warplanes bombed heavily ISIL's positions in Civil Defense region North of al-Mufti Grand Mosque in Deir Ezzur city, destroying a large weapons and munitions depot of the terrorists.

 

The fighter jets, later, targeted ISIL's defense lines in Jonayd division base, Tal (hill) Aloush, Tal Milad in the Southwestern outskirts of Deir Ezzur city.

 

The Russian army aircraft further struck al-Rabi'at region South of Panorama region, and the two regions of al-Maqaber (cemetery) and al-Khazanat Southwest of Tamin brigade base.
