RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Iraqi city of Karbala’s Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ahmad al-Safi offered his condolences on the martyrdom of the forth Imam, Ali ibn al-Husayn al-Sajjad and said: “The battle of Karbala on the day of Ashura and the sermons and revelations of Imam al-Sajjad and Lady Zaynab in Damascus were two essential parts of the Battle of Karbala.”

The representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani in Karbala said that the illness and survival of Imam al-Sajjad on the day of Ashura was due to divine will and said: “On the day of Ashura, Imam al-Sajjad picked up his sword to fight but Imam al-Husayn asked his sister, Lady Zaynab, to prevent from entering the battlefield so that the generation of Imams would not be interrupted.”

Hujjat al-Islam al-Safi said that after being taken captive to Syria, Imam al-Sajjad did not speak about the tragedy which befell Imam al-Husayn from the pulpit but rather he delivered a sermon about the Prophet Muhammad, Imam Ali and Lady Fatimah al-Zahra and exposed the truth about the Umayyad Dynasty and the caliph Yazid to the people.

The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Hadhrat Abbas said the devotion and adherence to the Imams by the Iraqi forces fighting against the Daesh Takfiri terrorists has made their courageous stance against the enemies and pursuance of martyrdom on the path of righteousness easy.

“The tragedy of Karbala has left an impact on the hearts of the warriors and fighters,” he stated.

The Iraqi cleric prayed that God Almighty bestow health and complete safety and security on the pilgrims participating in the upcoming Arba’in pilgrimage to the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn in Karbala which reaches its climax on November 21.

“The pilgrims of Imam al-Husayn should pray for the warriors fighting in this war against terrorism in order that they achieve victory as soon as possible,” he said.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Safi called for the groups of mourners to cooperate with the security forces in order to prevent the creation of any type of security problems and said that terrorists will target groups of mourners and for this reason, groups of mourners must remain vigilant through the Arba’in pilgrimage.
