RNA – Speaking at a conference entitled “The Consequences of Takfirism” which is being held in the Iranian Province of Gorgan, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad-Hasan Zamani, the deputy of foreign affairs of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran said, “The Takfiri movement that we are currently witnessing in the Islamic world is an unfortunate phenomenon which has never been seen before throughout the history of Islam.”
Hujjat al-Islam Zamani categorized Takfirism under three sub-divisions: Doctrinal Takfirism, Political Takfirism and Jurisprudential Takfirism and added, “The terrible conditions that we’re currently witnessing in the Islamic world are caused by the fatwas issued by Takfiri muftis.”
He then referred to Kharijites in the history of Islam and added, “The current Takfiri movement has significance from two perspectives: one is due to its rapid growth and the scale that the Takfiris are murdering Muslims and non-Muslims, and the second one is the diverse range of atrocities and crimes that they are carrying out in the world.”
“This fratricide has never happened throughout the fourteen centuries of Islamic history and sadly all these atrocities are being carried out under the name of Islam and religion.”
Hujjat al-Islam Zamani referred to the vicious crimes committed by the Takfiris and added, “Takfiris have committed every form of crimes one can imagine, out of which one can never be forgiven – that is their giving a bad name to Islam and propagating Islam as a violent religion.”
The Shi’ah cleric further highlighted that Islam is a fast-growing global religion, “The first and foremost motivation behind establishing and sponsoring Takfirism in the Islamic world were the evil intentions of the world’s arrogant powers since they could not stand the increasing growth of Islam as a peaceful religion in the world.”
“Islam is by no means a violent religion, but a truly peaceful one,” he concluded.
