Ayatollah Araki said, “Today, cultural engineering is being pursued in the West in order to direct the will and thoughts of the people toward the wishes of Western governments.” RNA – Speaking at a mourning ceremony on the fifth night of Muharram at Shohada Husayniyah in Qom, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, the secretary-general of the World Forum for the Approximation of Islamic Schools of Thought, said that the uprising of Imam al-Husayn wasn’t for this world nor was it competition for domination and said, “The uprising of the Imam al-Husayn was to demonstrate the features and dimensions of the divine religion to the people and to establish the rule of justice.”
In other remarks, the member of the Assembly of Experts stressed that one of the characteristics of Western civilization is the disconnection of human beings from divine revelation and said, “Western civilization has committed the greatest crimes in the history of mankind against humanity. In no era of human civilization, has there ever been a civilization like that of the West which has disrupted human reason and has closed their eyes and ears.”
He added, “American society is a society which is completely unaware. Some think that American society is advanced, but it isn’t, if society has technology and weapons, it isn’t a sign of progress.”
Ayatollah Araki said, “A society where people’s eyes and ears are closed isn’t advanced. Don't the American people see what crimes their government is committing throughout the world? Is there anyone in the United States who wants to make their politicians answer for their crimes?”
He said, “If anyone reports on how Westerners interact with Iranian media and the message of the Imam of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khomeyni], they see how they don’t allow the message of the Islamic Revolution to be broadcasted.”
Ayatollah Araki added, “American thinkers themselves say that the American people don’t have the power of political thought and analysis and are unaware of the world. The American people regard Palestinians as the manifestations of violence and the Zionist regime as the symbol of justice and righteousness. Today, cultural engineering is being pursued in the West in order to direct the will and thoughts of the people toward the wishes of Western governments.”
