Hamas:
Hamas politburo member Salah al-Bardawil played down Israel’s recent threats against Palestinian leaders, saying that the threatening remarks uttered by Zionist officials are meant to help incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netantahu in his election campaign.

RNA - “The occupying regime’s threats to target the leaders of resistance groups and Hamas is nothing new as elections entail stupid remarks. Every party wants to impersonate itself as the strongest by using a radical rhetoric against Palestinian nation and resistance. This is the only thing they can resort to in elections,” al-Bardawil said on Tuesday, in an interview with arabi21.com.

His remarks came after Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz told Army Radio on Monday that Tel Aviv was ready for an extensive action in the Gaza Strip if necessary.

“We are working constantly to reduce the threat of Hamas, such as by destroying their tunnels. We currently respond to every security incident, but there is the possibility that we could begin a campaign there.”

The Palestinian figure went on saying that the threats to assassinate Hamas leader will not dishearten them from keeping on with their legitimate fight for their rights.

“Those who are after locking horn with resistance groups in the future are completely aware that they will pay a heavy price, because we are ready to defend our rights and cause, we are ready to pay the cost,” he underlined.
