Security Chief:
Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani underlined that the anti-Iran policies undertaken by US President Donald Trump will assuredly fail, adding that Tehran does not take statements coming from the current White House seriously.

RNA - In an interview with Russia Today TV on Thursday night, Shamkhani said that the sanctions policy and the economic war that Trump is pursuing will not yield any result and these hostile policies will fail in the end.

"We have 15 neighbors, geographic borders and the economic environment and more importantly the nation on the scene, and all of this will make the sanctions fail, as in the past 2.5 years was so," he said.

The top security official highlighted, "Iran's policy in protecting security and stability, specially in the current world and energy situation, is clear and Tehran will not attack anyone, but the aggressor will regret if Iran is attacked.”

The high ranking official added that the presence of foreign troops, specially Americans in the region, is the main cause of tension, and the best example of this is their support for former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussain in attacking Iran and the use of chemical weapons and then attacking Kuwait with the green light of the United States.

On Tuesday, Chairman of the parliament's Fraction to Confront Sanctions Mohammad Ali Pourmokhtar told FNA, "The Americans' measure against the Islamic Republic of Ian is an anti-humane and anti-human rights measure. We want to establish a club to confront sanctions based on the information we have about the 25 countries which are under the US sanctions with different methods."

He added that the aim of the club will be confrontation against sanctions and taking coordinated steps through cooperation.

"It was decided that the 25 countries will take common steps through diplomatic trafficking and form a united front against the US measures," Pourmokhtar said.

Iran, China, Russia, Turkey and North Korea are among the large countries which have been hit by the US cruel sanctions.

In relevant remarks on Sunday, Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan said that it is up to Tehran, Beijing and Moscow to form a strategic trilateral cooperation to defy the US unilateral measures against Iran.

Addressing the 2nd conference on perspective of trade and cultural cooperation between Iran and North Caucasian Federal District in Tehran, Dzhagaryan underlined that China, Iran and Russia should develop their economic cooperation to enable Iran to confront the US measures against the nuclear deal.

The diplomat underlined that Moscow opposes the unilateral moves of Washington in violation of nuclear pact, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

“The Russian Federation is concerned about the unfair sanctions imposed on Iran, and Russia is ready to help Iran to thwart negative impacts of the US sanctions,” Dzhagaryan underscored.

The ambassador said that Russia is determined to broaden economic ties with Iran.
