Following the destruction of many mosques by Al Khalifa, the construction of new mosques and Hussainias is opposed to by the king of Bahrain.

RNA - Sheikh Mohsen al-Asfoor, the chairman of Bahrain Jafari Endowments Organisation, having recently criticised the Bahraini Justice Minister, was dismissed by the king of the state.

Al-Asfoor had told the king of Bahrain that the Justice Minister doesn’t permit the registration of new endowments by the Bahraini Shiites and hampers the use of the said resources.

According to the Bahraini Mirat al-Bahrain Press, Sheikh al-Asfoor was dismissed so that no new mosque or Hussainia is built by the Shiites, though the Bahraini people are fully aware of Al Khalifa’s plans for pressing the Jafari Endowments Organization.

In 2011, the Wahhabi forces, following the Fatwas issued by Wahhabi Muftis (Jurists), destroyed many mosques belonging to the Shiites.

The destruction of the said mosques was widely reflected and responded to across the world, however some parks and museums were built in their places.
