Leader's Aide:
Iranian Supreme Leader's top Aide for International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati said the US-backed conference in Warsaw is aimed at forming an Israeli-Arab coalition against Palestinians’ interests.

RNA - “The facts indicate that the conference is going to be an introduction to realizing and formalizing the interaction between Arab reactionary regimes and the Zionist regime, and also a beginning for the formation of Arabic-Hebrew coalition and undermining the issue of Palestine,” Velayati said on Wednesday in Tehran at a ceremony held to commemorate martyr Fathi Shaqaqi, the co-founder and Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement.

“Deal of the Century is the newest and latest plot against the Palestinian nation. This is a failed strategy and acts as artificial ventilation to revive a regime which is experiencing its last days,” he also noted.

He went on to say that supporting the Palestinian nation has always been among fundamental and strategic values and aims of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He added the United States is after its hostile anti-Iranian aims in the event.

On Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the upcoming anti-Iran conference in Poland will certainly yield no results, noting that even Washington has backtracked from its past positions.

The Americans have made lots of attempts to hold a meeting against the Islamic Republic of Iran in Poland but they withdrew from their positions and therefore, they changed the title of Warsaw meeting and announced that Iran is not the subject of the conference," Zarif added.

He noted that the Americans declared that their vice-president will take part in Warsaw conference, and added, "Therefore, all these issues show that their primary goals and move have not yielded results… and the meeting seems to be turning into something not acceptable and desired by the Americans."

The Iranian diplomatic chief said that no Iranian official has been invited to the meeting, and added, "The Warsaw conference is doomed to fail before the start."

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Fox News last month that Washington would jointly host a global summit focused on Iran and the Middle East in Poland in February, but senior US diplomats later softened tone to shift the conference title to security in the Middle-East, denying that Iran will top or be the main agenda.

The international gathering will take place in Warsaw from February 13 to 14, the US State Department said in a statement last month.

Then in response, Zarif lashed out at the anti-Iran conference, describing it as a “desperate circus” that will disgrace the participants.

“Reminder to host/participants of anti-Iran conference: those who attended last US anti-Iran show are either dead, disgraced, or marginalized. And Iran is stronger than ever,” Zarif said in a tweet last month.

Zarif also strongly criticized the Polish government for hosting the conference, reminding Warsaw of thousands of Polish refugees saved by Iran during the Second World War.

“Polish Govt. can't wash the shame: while Iran saved Poles in WWII, it now hosts desperate anti-Iran circus,” he went on to say.

Also, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani underlined that the anti-Tehran conference indicated that the US sanctions against Iran had yielded no results.

"Turning sanctions with utmost pressures into seminar and congress means that you are empty-handed‌," Shamkhani told reporters in Tehran.

His remarks alluded to the US administration's attempts to put utmost pressures on Iran through sanctions.
