Hujjat al-Islam Na’im Qasim:
Imam Khomeyni transformed Iran from a dependent country to a developed country
Rasa – Speaking at a ceremony commemorating the death anniversary of the Imam Khomeyni, Hujjat al-Islam Qasim said that the founder of the Islamic Revolution turned Iran from a dependent country into a developed country in all fields.

RNA – A ceremony commemorating the 29th anniversary of the death of Imam Sayyed Ruhollah Mousavi-Khomeyni, the founder of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, was held at the Iranian embassy in Beirut, Lebanon.

Imam Khomeyni passed away on June 3, 1989.

According to the website, “al-Muqawamah,” Hujjat al-Islam Na’im Qasim, the deputy secretary-general of Hezbollah, Ayatollah Abdul-Amir Qabalan, the vice-president of the Supreme Shi’ite Council of Lebanon, Ashraf Dabour, the Palestinian ambassador to Lebanon, Shaykh Maher Hammoud, the chairman of the International Union of Resistance Scholar, Ali Abdul-Karim, the Syrian ambassador to Lebanon and Ayoub Hamid, a member of the Lebanese parliament who represented the speaker of the parliament, Nabih Berri, were among the dignitaries involved in the event.

Speaking during the ceremony, Hujjat al-Islam Qasim said that Imam Khomeyni turned Iran from a dependent country into a developed country in all fields and added, “If Jerusalem al-Quds is liberated, the humankind and the world will be free. For this reason, Imam Khomeyni said that International al-Quds Day is a universal day.”

The deputy secretary-general of Hezbollah said, “Since the time of the Iranian nuclear negotiations [with the P5+1 group of countries], the Obama administration has been demanding that Iran discuss the question of Palestine alongside the nuclear issue, the issues of the region and Iran’s position in this world.”

He stated, “The Iranians have consistently emphasized that their nuclear program is peaceful and its aim is to produce energy. In its course, the nuclear deal proved that Iran has not built a nuclear bomb. The Americans continuously want Iran to be a weak state that cannot defend itself, cannot defend the nations of the region and they fear that the Iranians who can defeat the Zionist regime.”

Hujjat al-Islam Qasim stressed, “The victories achieved by Hezbollah in Lebanon are ‘sincere advantages’ for Lebanon. The support of Iran led to Hezbollah’s humiliating expulsion of Israel from Lebanon in 2000 and its defeat in the 2006 Lebanon War, which proves that we are not weak. We are strong. The enemies are being led to disbelief today and they do not accept that Hezbollah could defeat the American project in the region. Today, despite the will of all the oppressors, Hezbollah is standing proud.”

The Lebanese Shi’ah cleric said that Hezbollah, born from Imam Khomeyni’s line, has acquired three pillars from the line of the late Imam: It has introduced the authentic Islamic model, worked for independence and rejected dependency and faced the occupation within the compass of the liberation of Palestine, and has achieved these successes.
Other speakers of the ceremony included Ahmad Hoseyni, the chargé d’affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Qabalan, Ayoub Hamid and Shaykh Maher Hammoud.
